Visitors would take their resin-based colored crystals to the machine and place them in the top of the processor.
A couple of in-progress photos:

After pulling the lever the crystals would slide down and clunk on different slides while the lever arm moved a jigsaw blade across screws to make a satisfying jingle as you were processing. The crystal would then roll out the bottom. As it rolled out, it triggered a break beam sensor that sent a signal to an ESP32 that moved the LEDs across the exhibit and into the fuel tank on the left. After the fuel tank was fuel there was a celebration animation.
The structure was made by using the Shaper Origin to make an odd curve after placing out the two elements on a piece of cardboard and figuring out a natural curve that fit both of them. After making two copies of the curve, they were joined with traditional framing and then skinned with flexible plywood. I finished by painting all of the elements and the background in a theater-y way.
